The Indonesian Broadcasting Commission Demands Television Stations Not to Air Wildlife Exploitation Shows

Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia (KPI) akhirnya mengeluarkan surat himbauan ke semua stasiun TV agar tidak menayangkan program siaran yang mengeksploitasi satwa. Dalam surat KPI nomor 455/K/KPI/07/12 yang ditandatangani oleh Ketua Mochamad Riyanto itu KPI berharap stasiun TV mematuhi peraturan perundangan yang melindungi satwa yaitu UU nomor 5 tahun 1990 tentang Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam Hayati dan Ekosistemnya. Dalam peraturan tersebut disebutkan bahwa pemanfaatan satwa dilindungi untuk tujuan komersil adalah dilarang.
