Wildlife Campaign in Car Free Day

ProFauna Indonesia's activists concurrently joined a campaign on wildlife conservation in Car Free Day area in Sidoarjo and Malang, East Java (31/3/2013). The activists displayed posters saying "Do not buy wild animals" and "save our forest" while walking around the Sunday morning crowd. Not only carrying posters, they also wore masks resembling primates and cockatoos.

Their action drew the attention of the people who were visiting the Car Free Day, a weekly occasion established by the local government. Many visitors chatted with ProFauna and showed their interest in supporting ProFauna. This model of campaign is not exclusive to Malang and Sidoarjo only, but will also be carried out in other cities in Indonesia with the supporters' voluntary work.
