Your Purchases Will Save the Sumatran Orangutans.

In the series of "Ride for Orangutan 2013" campaign activities, ProFauna Indonesia raises fund to help the rehabilitation of the Sumatran orangutans. ProFauna launches limited series of Orangutan t-shirts. The t-shirt design is a work of art by one of ProFauna Supporters (local volunteers) whose known as Pakde Yoes, an artist coming from Sidoarjo City. The t-shirt is for sale at 100,000 IDR minimum.

The orangutan t-shirt is available in M, L, XL and XXL. All proceeds will go to the rehabilitation program of the Sumatran orangutan. Starting from 20th April 2013 to the end of May 2013, ProFauna activists who are the members of Ride for Orangutan team, will go on trip to Sumatera Island campaigning for the conservation of orangutan and the habitats. The team will visit the orangutan quarantine center in Sibolangit, North Sumatra and an orangutan release site in Aceh.

The Sumatran orangutans nowadays can only be found in North Sumatera and Aceh Provinces with Lake Toba bordering the distribution range in the South. It is estimated that the population of Sumatran orangutan in the wild remains 6,000 individuals. The decreasing population in the wild is due to the degradation of the low land forests that become the main habitats for orangutan and the poaching for trade.
