Save Forests in Sumatra

ProFauna's activists together with Slankers Medan held a campaign in the heart of Medan calling for the protection of forests in SumatraProFauna's activists together with Slankers Medan held a campaign in the heart of Medan calling for the protection of forests in Sumatra. In the campaign took place by the fountain of Simpang Majestic, Jalan Gatot Subroto Medan, ProFauna's activists carried posters saying "Save Forest in Sumatra". In front, three activists in orangutan costumes walked around carrying similar posters. Later on, those three "orangutans" swarmed on the road, miming dead orangutans as the victims of forest destruction in Sumatra.

In the campaign covered by tens of journalists, Rosek Nursahid, the chairperson of ProFauna Indonesia, said "The protection of forests in Sumatra is a must, in order to conserve Sumatran Orangutan. Without forests to live, orangutans will vanish, and this will lead to a disaster for the whole ecosystem in Sumatra."
