Conservation of Parrots Endemic To North Maluku
ProFauna Indonesia offers a volunteer project in North Maluku, Eastern part of Indonesia. North Maluku is known as one of the main habitats of endemic parrots including the White Cockatoo, the Red Lory, and the Eclectus parrot. Comprising of natural and beautiful 395 small islands, North Maluku is rich in marine biodiversity as well as diving sites.
By becoming a volunteer in this project, not only will you help ProFauna in parrot conservation but you will also get the opportunity to experience the beautiful nature of parrot habitats and witness the indigenous local tribes. Beautiful nature, culture, and parrot diversity will be the main attractions in North Maluku.
The activities in this project include:
- Assisting parrot survey in the wild
- Education of parrot conservation in schools
- Local community outreach.
- Monitoring of parrot trade
